I was an addict, but now I'm less of an addict and more of a person who is actively trying to improve himself. I'm way more happier these days. I won the everlasting battle with my depression. The first things I came across in my recovery journey was his website. I still remember being so motivated after reading it. Then I discovered r/NoFap and things got even better! Massive respects to Gary! You&I are responsible for this change in my life.

My deepest condolences to his family.

Gary will forever be remembered; not only by the Nofap community, but I am sure by the whole world one day, when the negative effects of porn finally reach the main stream.
Just like the doctors who first found out the effects of smoking, he will be remembered as the first one to shed light and give scientific evidence to the dangers of pornography.

He put so much effort into spreading the message, which reached millions of people, including me.
I will never forget you, as you helped change my life.

    Rest in Peace

Your work will be recognized by the God and Angels. Lots fun to reborn as a porn quitter. I felt that journey will be harder for both my generation and future generations. I hope your work will bless us and wash our sins away.

I learned from Gary at The Heartwood Institute in 2000-2001. Gary and I hit it off right away. I loved his unfiltered teaching methods. Gary spoke what he felt in the moment. He was always had a smile and liked to joke around. His passion for anatomy and physiology was contagious. He was a great guy. I remember Marnia showing up at heartwood and watching their relationship blossom. I could tel that she was a great influence on him right away. RIP Gary

We deeply regret the loss of a great human being. His work has been very important and helped many people in the world. Thanks to his books and exhibitions we have a very large source of knowledge about the evil that lurks with the consumption of pornography. We pray to God to have mercy on him and to give him eternal rest. We are united in prayer, for him and his family. He will continue to shine through his works, he has left a legacy of virtue in humanity. May he rest in peace.

Like most people I first became aware of Gary's work via his website. I was immediately struck by his clarity of expression, his thoroughness, and his steady good sense. This was eight years ago now but it was already obvious then that pornography was creating very real problems for many of its users, even if the idea that it could be addictive was still loudly rejected by people who should have known better.

I was lucky enough to work with Gary on the book he wrote based on his research into the scientific literature of addiction in general and pornography addiction in particular. He was a marvellous author; always clear about what he wanted to do, and what he wanted the reader to take from the text. In all the years I knew him he always managed to make things clearer (even when I did my best to complicate things).

I'd like to express my condolences with his friends and with his family. He did fine work, and he helped a lot of people, and that's a lot to say of anyone,

    Dan

Some things change one's life forever. Pornography addiction is one of them. Many men think that watching it compulsively, as many do, is just a normal part of ourselves, society has also embraced this idea, and nowadays not using it seems rather weird and foreign. Mr. Wilson taught us that it is okay to not take this path, be independent of pornography, and speak up for millions of us who have to deal with this problem. I did not know him personally, nor do I know the people in his surroundings, but I am pretty confident about the fact that he was a good man, an honest man. A man who decided to raise his voice in a world where men and women have to take the over-sexualization of society as a standard. Thank you very much for giving us hope
