It is with great sadness and sorrow that I have received the news of the passing of Dr. Gary Wilson. My deepest condolences to his wife, Marnia and his son during this difficult time.
My first acquaintance with Dr. Gary Wilson was when I watched his video "The Great Porn Experiment" on YouTube. I liked his message because it was distinct in its content and did not match the mainstream ideas on this topic, which motivated me to read his book. As a mother of four, I immediately realized that I had found a valuable treasure. Trying to convince a young man to abstain from watching porn because it is not good for him is a very difficult task, and Your Brain on Porn provided me with the information and vocabulary that enabled me to talk about this topic in a simple and clear way that is at the same time scientific and objective. I believed then that this book should be read by all parents and educators, and this motivated me to translate the book to Arabic. The memory of Dr. Gary Wilson will live through his works and words, and I hope that my humble effort has contributed to spreading his knowledge and conveying his message.

ببالغ الحزن والأسى تلقيت نبأ وفاة الدكتور غاري ويلسون. تعازينا الحارة لزوجته السيدة مارنيا وولده في هذا الوقت العصيب.
كانت بداية معرفتي بالدكتور غاري ويلسون عندما شاهدت الفيديو من مؤتمر تيد "التجربة الكبرى مع الإباحية الجنسية" على اليوتيوب. أعجبت بأفكاره لأنها كانت متميزة في مضمونها ولا تساير النمط السائد حول هذا الموضوع مما حفزني لقراءة كتابه. كأم لأربعة أبناء أدركت على الفور أني قد وجدت كنزا قيما. إن محاولة إقناع الشاب اليافع بعدم مشاهدة الأفلام الإباحية لأنها ضارة له هي مهمة صعبة جدا، وكتاب دماغك تحت تأثير الإباحية أمدني بالمعلومات والمفردات التي مكنتني من الحديث في هذا الموضوع بشكل بسيط وواضح وفي نفس الوقت علمي وموضوعي. ارتأيت عندها أن هذا الكتاب يجب أن يقرأه كل والد ومربي، وكان هذا هو الدافع والمحفز لي على ترجمة الكتاب للعربية. ذكرى الدكتور غاري ويلسون ستحيا من خلال أعماله وكتاباته، وأسأل الله أن يكون جهدي المتواضع قد ساهم في نشر علمه وإيصال رسالته.
